not appearing on single post types

Hello. Great plugin – thanks!

Any way to make the sidebar appear for single post types?
What im doing is adding the archive.php of a custom post type as a template for a page. This page is a child – and therefore the sidebar appears on this page.

I have also added a rewrite so the archive page will always stay a child of its parent. however when i access the single page, the sidebar doesnt appear. Anyway to force the single page to be a child and therefore have the sidebar appear on it?
