This is driving me nuts and I have no idea how to fix it. I have seen similar issues, but none exactly like mine:
I have been developing a website for the past 2 years and have had 0 issues until last week. All of a sudden, when clicking any links on my site, from my laptop, a download prompt appears instead of actually linking me to the destination page. This happens approximately 60% of the time and only from my laptop. If I access it from any other pc there is no problem. I have tried:
other browsers – no change
clearing browser cache and site cache – no change
changing the program to automatically open the files (was set to Notepad++)
The only event that correlates with this problem onset would be when I also installed my site locally for development purposes. I tried reversing all of those changes, still no change.
If anyone could help me with this situation it would be greatly appreciated. Not sure where else to post this.
